Pacific Exploration Company is set to pioneer natural hydrogen exploration in New Zealand, leveraging the country’s unique geological features and abundant ultramafic rocks. Directors

Shaun Ramsden MCom, BCom, BScTech

Shaun is a multidisciplinary earth scientist and founding member of seven energy and resource startups, including two companies he personally established and led from inception. His experience spans early-stage exploration, technical development, and strategic leadership. His work bridges frontier resource plays and commercial execution, covering coal seam gas (Mongolia), native hydrogen and helium (New Zealand, South Australia, Asia-Pacific, SE Asia), oil and gas (NW Shelf, Queensland), carbon capture and storage (South Australia), Ni-Cu-PGE systems and critical minerals (West Musgraves), and low-sulphidation epithermal gold (New Zealand). Shaun is known for his ability to identify overlooked geological opportunities, build technical confidence around them, and convert those insights into investor-ready ventures. He has led teams through every phase—from geological analysis and regulatory approvals to tenement strategy, stakeholder negotiation, and capital raising. With a career grounded in both field science and business development, Shaun brings a unique combination of vision, technical depth, and executional drive to the evolving natural hydrogen exploration landscape.

Neil Carr EMME, MBA, BEng

Neil has held various roles in the project management, drilling, completion and resource development sectors of both multi-national energy companies and smaller start-up energy companies for exploration and production evaluation spanning a 19-year career. He also is the owner and Managing Director of Pelican Well Services, a bespoke project management, drilling & completions engineering with a specialty in well control problems. Neil holds an engineering degree from the Queensland University of Technology, an MBA from the University of Adelaide and an Executive Master of Management in Energy from the BI Norwegian School of Business.
